Double Roasted Crystal | DRC

Simpsons DRC® is a malt exclusive to Simpsons Malt and is unique in that it undergoes the roasting process twice – hence the name Double Roasted Crystal!

This intensely crystalised malt delivers deep toffee, burnt sugar and subtle plum and raisin notes, along with a dark mahogany hue (280-320 °EBC), making it an ideal addition to Stouts, Porters, Barleywines and other robust ales, where a bold, layered malt character is desired. 

Typically used at 5-15% in grists, Simpsons DRC® enhances mouthfeel, depth and residual sweetness, balancing roasted malts and hop bitterness while adding unparalleled richness and complexity to dark, full-bodied beers.
