This malt – produced from heritage barley variety Golden Promise, which dates to the 1960s – is highly versatile, excelling in Pale Ales, IPAs, Bitters and Scotch Ales, where a smooth yet distinctive malt backbone is desired.
Compared to Best Pale Ale Malt, Finest Pale Ale Golden Promise® is slightly softer and sweeter, with a rounder mouthfeel and less pronounced biscuit notes and, against Maris Otter, it is cleaner, more delicate and offers a more refined sweetness.
Finest Pale Ale Golden Promise® also provides greater depth and malt complexity than Extra Pale Ale Malt, which is crisper and lighter in colour. Overall, this makes it a top choice for brewers seeking a high-quality, flavourful base malt with heritage.
